Original 19th century French ormolu mantel clock attributed to renowned bronzier Henri Picard. Signed "Farret à Paris" and featuring Athena the allegorical female figure of art classical instruments, and floral motifs, characteristic of Napoleon III / Second Empire style. Excellent condition, with matching serial number 1138 on the movement and pendulum. Stamped "H. PICARD" and with an additional maker's mark for authenticity.
The clock is in full working order and has been recently serviced by a professional horologist, a distinguished member of the British Watch and Clock Makers Guild (BWCMG).
Dimensions: 16" x 14". Picard was a leading Parisian bronzier, famous for supplying the Palace of Versailles during Napoleon III's reign. Highly sought after for its exceptional craftsmanship and elegance.
