An outstanding example of British postwar design, this mid-century lounge chair blends craftsmanship, comfort, and industrial elegance. Featuring sculpted hardwood armrests, original black vinyl upholstery, and rare GKN-stamped brass hardware, this piece likely served in a government, executive, or academic setting during the 1950s–60s.

While unmarked, the design shows strong affinity with institutional and government-commissioned seating by Hille and Remploy. This chair may have originated in a public office, university, or state building. The GKN fasteners reinforce a British origin and hint at limited production or bespoke supply.
